The Illinois Certificate of Status (Also referred to as the Illinois Certificate of Good Standing or Illinois Certificate of Existence) is an official document issued by the Illinois Department of State Division of Corporations that certifies that the legal entity is registered with the State of Illinois and is compliance with all state required formalities.
Upon application to the Office of the Illinois Division of Corporations a Certificate of Good Standing will be granted to any domestic or foreign profit and nonprofit corporation, limited liability company that was duly registered or formed within the State of Illinois and is in good standing.
Requirements to be eligible for a Certificate of Good Standing: • Your entity must be registered within your State as a Corporation, LLC or LLP
• You must have filed all annual reporting as required by your State
• Your entity must have paid all State mandated fees and taxes in a timely fashion
